Melinda Cochrum, Founder and President of Lone Star School of Etiquette, is a double certified consultant in both children’s and corporate/university etiquette from the prestigious American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Georgia. She lives in a suburb of Dallas, Texas with her two sons. Melinda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. After she graduated from college, Melinda taught 6th grade mathematics and then transitioned to a successful career in Information Technology and Biotechnology recruiting. As coach and mentor to her candidates, Melinda found great joy in helping individuals obtain the opportunity that changed their lives.
Melinda strongly believes that the true riches lie in giving and serving. Recognizing the huge shift in what the world views as socially acceptable, Melinda aims to honor a lost art – manners and etiquette, one child, teen, adult, company, and one class at a time.
Through her experience in the classroom, corporate world, her up-bringing and the most important job in her life – that of raising her two boys – Melinda recognized she has a passion for making sure we do everything we can to protect our future: our children and young adults. Her efforts focus on empowering them to develop character, build self-respect, and act with integrity. She does this by facilitating a process that allows them to become aware of their social presence and how it impacts society.
